Norwegian Register of Business Enterprises deadlines for 2026

The Norwegian Register of Business Enterprises have recently published the deadlines for submitting company resolutions that have a six-week creditor notice, to ensure that such resolutions are registered by end of 2026. The deadlines apply to, inter alia, mergers, de-mergers, share capital decreases and liquidations which must be registered with the Norwegian Register of Business Enterprises.  

If you wish to complete one of the resolutions mentioned above before the end of 2026, the following deadlines apply for electronic submissions (via Altinn):

• Notification of decision must be sent by October 5, 2026  

• Notice of implementation can be submitted after the creditor notice has expired, and no later than December 3, 2026.

The following deadlines apply for submissions on paper:

• Notification of decision must be received by The Register of Business Enterprises by October 1, 2026 .  

• Notification of implementation must be received by December 1, 2026 .  

Note that the deadline for paper submissions refer to when the submission has been received by the Norwegian Register of Business Enterprises. In order to meet the deadline, it is therefore important to estimate postage of the documents to the Norwegian Register of Business Enterprises as well.  

If you wish to complete resolutions subject to a six-week creditor notice before the end of 2026, you must meet the Norwegian Register of Business Enterprise's deadlines as listed above. Other corporate resolutions are subject to the Norwegian Register of Business Enterprise's regular processing times, which is available on their website ( https://www.brreg.no/bedrift/nar-blir-saken-min-beheld/ ). We generally recommend estimating sufficient time and starting the process well in advance of the deadlines. In our experience, the processing times of the Norwegian Register of Business Enterprises are usually longer towards the end of the year.
